It is to accept that your child HAS to face the tests and difficulties that his Rabb has decreed for Him, just as he will enjoy His blessings.

And that he will be assisted in them by His Lord better than any assistance you could muster, she will be healed by Him above and beyond any nursing you can provide.

It is to be content with the way Allah moulds and teaches him/her, many though may be the desires of your heart to protect and safeguard him/her against all storms of life.

He will soothe your fears, and calm your heart, and provide coolness to your eyes.

It is to realise that He knows, He understands. He created you, He blessed you with motherhood.

He knows the deep rooted fears, overwhelming anxiety, overflowing love, endless concerns, and matchless mercy of your heart.

And finally it is also to show, through words and actions, that Allah is YOUR first priority. Before your child, before any other bond. His remembrance, His obedience, His worship should take precedence over all else.

It is to constantly remind yourself that this world is indeed a test, your children included. And in the end, all returns are to Him Alone.

Indeed, motherhood is a huge test.

As it is a huge blessing. And the key to that test is only Tawakkul, an empowering trust that teaches you to let go, and hold on to the most powerful of handholds that shall never break...

إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward (64:15)
